2008 WORLD FINALS TRIP
On October 25th, 2008
Sharon and Betty joined Jan for a date,
Stuffing the trailer with help from Terri,
It’s getting dark, now come on hurry!
Get the money straight cause we will need fuel,
When it comes to math, Jan’s no fool.
9 hours of travel can seem kind of long,
So Betty made Mike a welcome home song.
As soon as we get there we look for our stall,
Feed, hay, and buckets, we brought it all!
Check in at the check in is the next thing we do,
Don’t forget to bring your coggins and the yellow paper too!
Next we will be riding at the Civic Center,
Then the big question is, “what’s for dinner”?
After a trip to the Harvest Table,
It was so good but now it’s back to the stable.
Feed up, cleaning up, it is never ending,
The next thing you know, it’s time for some more barrel bending.
There goes Tony, Carol, and Jerry Martin’s pop,
And look at all this stuff, you can’t help but shop.
The Deal or No Deal won the very first place,
3rd was Vanessa, she had a black face.
I was so hungry so 3 burgers I ate,
The Golden Girls try not to stay up too late.
On Saturday night the finals begin,
And all too soon it comes to an end.
Next year we will do it all over again.
When Jan, Sharon, and I went down to Augusta, we started calling each other
the Golden Girls. We shared all experiences with each other and helped each
other in any way we could. It was so much fun and the show was a beautiful
thing to see. We cannot wait until next year to do it again.
I sat down on a bail of hay in front of Ruby’s stall and wrote this poem
while at the world Finals.
